Being happy with yourself for the long run requires more than just a desire. Success and happiness requires you to form a healthy and positive mental strength and self-control that you can apply in all areas of your life: at the gym, at home, at work. We have to realize that controlling our thoughts controls our world, and this is never more important than when things seemingly are going against us.
The world will give you plenty of reasons why you can't achieve your goals, but this is a matter of perspective. And perspective is a matter of choice. We have all seen the seeds of negativity spread quickly through a crowd, but so can a positive vibe. All the more reason to make the right choice!
The way I personally see it, it is all about the way you take it, the way you see it and how much you let it affect you! It actually took me years to stop worrying about other’s negative opinions, only see a positive side to things and avoid negativity around me.
Once you learn to control your thoughts and your environment, there's no challenge you can't push through. This isn't easy, but once you get the hang of it, you'll have the tools to achieve your goals now, and in the years to come.
Positive thinking is a mental attitude that anticipates happiness, success and favorable outcomes in every situation or action you do. The thoughts get registered in your subconscious mind and you start taking action to create favorable change. A positive outlook can help you to cope better with stressful situations and can change your life for the better.
SO… Why think positively?
The difference between two people lies in their attitude and their approach towards life. Your mindset plays a huge role in every aspect of your life. Your mind can control your body for better or for worse. A negative mindset can create irritability and stress in your life while a positive mindset can make your life happy and peaceful. The choice is yours!
Think of a time in your life when you were happiest, it is no coincidence that this will also be a time when your body was at its healthiest. Negativity is a stress we place on our bodies and our bodies respond to it by wiring our bodies to best avoid it, either by fight or flight. But when we remain under stress, or become trapped in a cycle of depression, our bodies cannot adapt and we physically suffer.
You cannot change your thoughts and attitude over night. Positive thinking takes practice, so next time life presents you with a difficult situation, THINK about the way you will go about it, and recognize how positive thinking can improve your circumstances.
I listed some benefits of positive thinking below:
- Improves your self-esteem and confidence
- Brings inner peace, happiness and a sense of well-being
- Decreases stress
- Helps you cope better in stressful situations
- Strengthens your Immune System and reduces the risk of certain diseases
- Motivates you to accomplish your goals
- Helps you have greater inner strength and energy
- Helps you live longer
Believe in yourself and your capabilities to become more confident. Make a positive commitment to yourself and to the people around you. Be proud to be enthusiastic!
People always ask me how am I always so positive every morning and am always smiling.
Here is how:
- I do things I love
- I surround myself with positive people only
- I completely ignore negativity, gossip and jealousy around me, every day, no exceptions!
- I exercise which elevates my mood
- I eat healthy which gives me good energy all day
- I help people get in the best shape of their life which inspires me and makes me happy about myself
Sure Iife isn’t as easy and the hardest part to get through for me is when I am in competition prep. My training is extremely intense, I take out 2-3 hours of my day to exercise, my diet is restricted for 12 weeks, I can’t do social things with my friends and I work long hours most days of the week. I keep calm and fit everything into my life, because I think about my achievements and things I want to accomplish rather than what can get in my way.
